imai on screen #7
Cut-Up / Textfilm / Found-Footage
Saturday, 2 April, 2011, 8 pm** in the Salon Des Amateurs, Grabbeplatz 4, Duesseldorf
Experimental films with the subject matter and formal context of the films of KRIWET
Inspired by the event of the retrospective exhibition for the author and artist
Ferdinand Kriwet at the Kunsthalle in Duesseldorf where a number of his experimental films will be screened, on this evening at the
Salon
des Amateurs there will also be works on view from the areas of experimental film, structural cinema, video art, advertising and industrial films with a formal or theme-based association to the films of Kriwet:
CUT-UP films, an editing technique which randomly transfers avantgarde literature to film. TEXTFILME where text and language are stretched to the limit and aesthetically processed in an unconventional way. FOUND FOOTAGE films use existing interesting clips from feature films or documentaries which are then further processed to become new works and take on a new meaning. But also a party political broadcast where newspaper headlines play the main role and an industrial film where the function of a huge neon sign is examined will be screened.
Begin: 8 pm (promptly)
Admission: until 7.30 pm without charge / from 7.30 pm only with the special night of the museums ticket.
