Schulprojekt 3
"I'll show you something!" Pupils communicate video art (Vol. 3)
Pupils presented their own screening program on 10 November at the Cologne Filmhaus
This was the closing presentation of the third part of the school project with 5 international video works
A project with the basic art course /class 12 of the Cologne Elisabeth-von-Thüringen Gymnasium (high school).
The third part of the successful video art school project began on 1 September, 2009 with 17 pupils from class 12 with video works from the collection and distribution program of the imai foundation. At the close imai organised a video evening with a public screening of the video art program put together by the pupils in the Cologne Filmhaus.
The art historian Annette Ziegert guided the basic art course of class 12 aided by teacher Björn Föll. The course involved the selection, analysis, presentation and communication of audio visual art.
Project participants developed an own screening program with a total of 5 works from a timespan of 40 years of video art history and then presented this along with a self-designed program leaflet on the big screen at the Cologne Filmhaus.
"Pupils communicate video art" - the program
at the Filmhaus in Cologne at Maybachstrasse 111 on Tuesday, 10 November at 5 pm

The scope of the project "I'll show you something!" which came into being in the autumn of 2008 at the imai premises in Duesseldorf has now been extended to a neighbouring metropolis in the Rhine valley.
imai is very pleased about the newly established cultural partnership with the youth art gallery (education authority for the city of Cologne) which over a period of 10 years has promoted the involvement of pupils in Cologne in aesthetic issues and own artistic strategies.
